KENYA TRIP Year 7 to Year 12

The half term break trip  from 7th – 13th October 2018 saw 21 students from Year 7 to Year 12 and 2 supervisors board a plane to kenya to be received by a memorable experience full of exciting and refreshing activities.

The trip involved students traversing the busy roads of Kenya leading to Narok on the first day where they rested for the night only to wake up to another long but worthwhile journey to Masai Mara. Here they came up close to not only the Big three (Lions, Buffaloes and Elephants) but managed to see other animals including, Hippopotamus, Zebra, Warthogs, Antelopes, Giraffes and Wildebeest. The views were spiced up by interaction with the native Masai men and women and buying local craft from the inhabitants.

As if that was not enough of animals the group managed to find Lions, Cheetahs, Ostriches, Monkeys and Rhinoceros at the Nairobi National Park in the center of Nairobi, fed Giraffes by hand and mouth at the Giraffe center and witnessed mamba village as one of the places with the most number of crocodiles while in Mombasa.

The numerous exciting activities the group enjoyed were Water Sliding at Wild waters Mombasa, Horse riding, Boat rides in the ocean, entertainment from the masai men and women, swimming, ice skating and GP Karting!. This they pleaded on paying to participate in for at least one more time.

Further to that the transport from Nairobi to Mombasa and back was by intercontinental train which for most students was their first experience and therefore thrilling.

The group had a lot of fun shopping, went to the cinema at Nyali cinemax Mombasa to watch a new movie(with popcorn and soda in hand) and had a moving experience of 4D and 5D theater at Galleria Mall.

As one student mentioned “This trip was the best bargain ever”
