VACANCIES

Galaxy International School Uganda (GISU) is looking for applicants to fill in the following positions for the 2021/2022 Academic Year.

Applicants should have academic qualifications from native English-speaking countries;

Primary Class Teacher

Highly experienced and talented teacher needed to be a Class Teacher in Primary Section teaching English, Mathematics, Science, Global Perspectives, Digital Literacy, Humanities and Personal Social Health Education which will be a maximum of 24 teaching periods per week.

Lower Secondary Class Teacher

Highly experienced and talented teacher needed to be a Class Teacher in Secondary Section teaching, English, Literature in English, Global Perspectives, Critical Thinking and Personal Social Health Education which will be a maximum of 24 teaching periods per week.

Applicants should have academic teaching qualifications from native French-speaking countries;

French Teacher

Highly experienced and talented teacher needed to teach French in Early Years, Primary and Secondary Sections.

Applicants should have academic qualifications from reputable National Universities;

School Counsellor 

Highly qualified and experienced School Counsellor needed in the Well-Being Department.

Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant position available in Primary Section for recent graduates in Bachelor of Education with English, Mathematics or Science in a reputable National University and a considerable experience of working with a reputable international school.

Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant position available in Early Years Section for graduates in Bachelor/Diploma of Early Childhood Education with a considerable experience of working with a reputable international school.

Librarian

Highly experienced, flexible and organized librarian needed for the management of the school library and serve as a guide and resource for student and staff and other library users.

Secretary

Highly qualified and experienced Secretary needed in the administration.

The successful profile and qualifications

Pursuing the GISU Guiding Statements requires a commitment from our staff members to the following values; an international and cultural understanding, personal responsibility and integrity, mutual responsibility and respect.

Qualifications

  • Outstanding practitioner with at least three years of relevant full – time teaching experience.
  • A relevant Bachelor’s Degree is desired in the different disciplines.
  • An International/National Teaching Qualification or other equivalent Teaching Qualification(s).
  • Have excellent subject knowledge and experience.
  • Ability to work online.
  • Successful international experience of teaching is added advantage.

We have a keen interest for candidates who have engaged in Professional Development, taught students from culturally diverse backgrounds and who have previously lived and worked overseas.
