SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT – Galaxy International School Uganda


The students’ learning is usually assessed in the middle and at the end of each term, referenced
to Cambridge Assessment International Education standards. The summative assessments
require all students to take standardised tasks compiled from past papers which make it
possible to compare the performance of individuals.

Candidates also take external examinations as follows:

Cambridge Progression Tests: Year 3 to Year 9
Cambridge Primary Checkpoint: Year 6
Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint: Year 9
IGCSE: Year 11
AS Level: Year 12
A2 Level: Year 13
IELTS: English Proficiency Test
DEFL: French Proficiency Test
ABRSM: Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music
