Galaxy International School Uganda (GISU) is a co-educational international school located in Kampala, Uganda. The school provides international education as a Cambridge International School to students between 2.5 and 19 years of age. 1. Job Title: Business Teacher

Job Summary
The Business Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality Business Studies instruction within the Cambridge curriculum framework. The successful candidate should be able to teach Business at IGCSE and A-Level, support examination preparation, develop students’ analytical and entrepreneurial thinking, and promote practical application of business concepts to real-world contexts.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate should have:
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Studies, Commerce, Economics, Education, or a closely related field.
- A recognised teaching qualification is highly desirable.
- Proven experience teaching Business Studies at Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level.
- Strong knowledge of Cambridge assessment objectives, syllabus requirements, coursework expectations, and examination preparation.
- Ability to support students in developing business analysis, decision-making, problem-solving, and evaluation skills.
- Experience in preparing students for external examinations with evidence of strong learner outcomes.
- Ability to integrate case studies, enterprise projects, current business trends, financial literacy, and practical business scenarios into teaching.
- Strong classroom management, lesson planning, assessment, and feedback skills.
- Ability to use technology and digital learning platforms to support teaching and learning.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and professional conduct expected in an international school setting.
2. Job Title: French Teacher – Primary School

Job Summary
The French Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging, effective, and practical French language instruction to students within an international school environment. The successful candidate should demonstrate excellent command of the French language and the ability to develop students’ speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, pronunciation and cultural understanding.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate should have:
- A bachelor’s degree in French, Languages, Education, Linguistics, or a related field.
- A recognised teaching qualification is highly desirable.
- Excellent command of the French language, including spoken French, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and written expression.
- Proven experience teaching French in a school setting, preferably within an international school or Cambridge curriculum environment.
- Ability to teach French through practical, communicative, and interactive learning approaches.
- Strong ability to integrate French into real-life contexts such as conversations, role plays, presentations, cultural activities, reading tasks, writing exercises, and practical projects.
- Ability to support learners at different levels of language ability through differentiated instruction.
- Strong knowledge of language acquisition strategies and assessment of language skills.
- Ability to promote appreciation of French culture, global citizenship, and multilingual communication.
- Excellent classroom management, planning, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use technology, audio-visual resources, and digital platforms to enhance language learning.
3. Job Title: Swimming Coach

The Swimming Coach will be responsible for planning, delivering, and supervising safe and effective swimming instruction for students across different age groups and ability levels. The successful candidate will support the development of swimming skills, water safety, physical confidence, discipline, and competitive swimming where applicable.

Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate should have:
- A bachelor’s degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, Sports Coaching, Recreation Management, or a related field.
- Recognised swimming coaching certification from a reputable body such as FINA / World Aquatics, a national swimming federation, or an equivalent recognised swimming authority.
- Valid lifesaving, first aid, CPR, or water safety certification is highly desirable.
- Proven experience coaching swimming to children and young people in a school, club, or professional training environment.
- Strong knowledge of swimming techniques, stroke development, water safety, pool supervision, and age-appropriate coaching methods.
- Ability to support beginner, intermediate, and advanced swimmers.
- Ability to plan structured swimming lessons and training sessions with clear learning outcomes.
- Strong understanding of student safety, safeguarding, risk assessment, and emergency response around swimming pool environments.
- Ability to support school swimming competitions, galas, co-curricular activities, and student development programmes.
- Excellent communication, patience, professionalism, and ability to work with learners of different ages and confidence levels.
- Ability to maintain high standards of discipline, safety, hygiene, and supervision during swimming activities.
4. Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
- Number of positions: 1

Job Summary
The Learning Support Assistant will work under the guidance of the Learning Support Coordinator to support students with diverse learning needs. The role involves assisting in the implementation of individualised support strategies, classroom accommodations, differentiated learning activities, and student wellbeing interventions in collaboration with teachers, parents, and the learning support team.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate should have:
- A bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Needs Education.
- Experience supporting children with learning differences or special educational needs is highly desirable.
- Basic understanding of learning needs such as dyslexia, ADHD, autism spectrum needs, speech and language difficulties, social-emotional needs, and developmental delays.
- Ability to support the Learning Support Coordinator in implementing Individual Education Plans, intervention plans, learning accommodations, and classroom support strategies.
- Ability to work one-on-one or in small groups with students requiring additional learning support.
- Strong understanding of inclusion, confidentiality, child protection, and student dignity.
- Ability to assist teachers in adapting learning materials, supporting classroom participation, and tracking student progress.
- Patient, caring, observant, and flexible approach to working with children.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with teachers, parents, specialists, and school leadership.
- Ability to maintain accurate records of support provided and report concerns appropriately to the Learning Support Coordinator.
- Previous experience in an international school setting will be an added advantage.
