Drop Everything And Read.
DEAR time is a fantastic opportunity to encourage students to consider reading part of their daily lives. At 8am when the bell rings, we drop everything and read! There is a bit of a scramble beforehand to choose their favorite books, but all becomes still once DEAR time begins. The younger students enjoy the challenge of reading for 15 minutes without distraction, and its gets easier each week! We look forward to DEAR time and love tracking our progress!
