Saturday 23rd September registered an evening well spent as Parents, Staff and Management of GISU conferred during the 2017- 2018 Parents’ Information Evening. This is an Annual program, always scheduled at the beginning of the Academic Year to bring parents up to speed on the most recent developments in the school. It is also meant to initiate new parents into GISU systems and protocols. The event, graced by our parents who honoured our invitation, commenced in time for parents to be availed with information pertaining to the School’s Facilities, Innovations, Projects and Olympiads, events, Trips, and the PTA; the IEYC and IPC Curricula; the GISU SIS; Extracurricular Activities and the DofE Award; the School’s Counseling programmes, Career Guidance, Workshops, Internship, College and University Placement and Admissions; English as a Second Language intervention programmes, Students’ Council and GISU Staff’s Continuous Professional Development; Reteach and Enrich Programmes, Study Camps and Transition Programmes in lieu of Examinations; Discipline and Reward Systems. The various Administrators and Section Heads enriched the parents with essential information to equip them for the busy Academic Year we have embarked on.
At the end of the Conference Session, the guests were treated to Refreshments and Live- Music from the GISU Staff Band up on the School terrace. The GISU Performing Arts teachers sung sonorously with all blessedness as the Parents, Teachers and Administrators engaged in Mini- Individual Follow up Conferences on pertinent issues. The Guest left at their Leisure. Indeed it was an evening well spent- thanks to the School Administration, the GISU PR Office, the Coordinators and all the Facilitators of the day for the Job well done.
