Wednesday, 10th October 2018 was a superlatively exciting day for the GISU Year 5 and 6 students owing to the famous Laizy camping expedition we had at the Haven Eco River Lodge in Jinja along River Nile.
The children were indeed thrilled by the plethora of engaging and exciting activities like Fishing with the rods, Boat cruising on The Nile- the longest river in the world; Swimming, Cycling; Playing musical instruments, Singing and making merry at the camp fire- to mention but a few. We were thrilled to bits. We will not forget to mention the rich delicious and sumptuous food the entire party of youngsters enjoyed.
To demonstrate that a helping hand is a joyful heart, our students extended their love and a helping hand to the Kiteyunja Primary School which is situated near the camping area. The children took clothes, shoes and food Items to give to the school community. This inspiring Community service excursion helped our students to reflect on their social responsibility at their level of understanding amidst the exhilarations of Camping. By the end of the day our party of youngsters commuted back smiling with contentment upon reflections on the raptures of a day well spent.
We wish to thank our dear parents for the support and cooperation they offered towards this amazing camping expedition at the Haven. Thanks also to the GISU Administration for the mobilization and pertinent arrangements made for this inspiring and exciting fun time for our students. We look forward to the next Class tailored fun- activity.
