As our GISU family knows, this was the week of our fantastic event, Book Week. Our theme was “Across the Story Bridge”. The students, Parents, and teachers worked tirelessly to put together the event. The wonderful class, Year 3A, worked hard to prepare the assembly. Year 3A gave an incredible performance telling how books keep their brain active and let their imaginations soar.
On the final day of Book Week, all primary students were invited to dress as their favourite characters. The students came through with some creative and impressive costumes, and those with the outstanding costumes received a certificate and coupon to the canteen. The goal of Book Week and all of its events and competitions is to encourage a love of reading, and our students certainly showed they love their books. They interacted with stories and characters on a unique level this week, writing letters to their favourite character, character portraits, Book reviews and blurbs, Character Interviews, Diary entries and even Acrostic poems about their characters. We look forward to another great week of reading, and making every week book week!
